    On Friday, March 6, 2026, corresponding to the 17th day of Ramadan, Karamoko Sinayoko appeared as the guest of the program “Soun Tikaih Baro” broadcast on OM TV (Ouverture Média TV).

    Hosted by Malian presenter Thierno, the show features discussions with prominent Malian figures following the evening breaking of the fast and the Nafila night prayer.

    A Ramadan program focused on dialogue

    The segment “Soun Tikaih Baro”, which can be translated as “Breaking-the-Fast Conversations”, has become a popular program among Malian viewers.

    The concept is to invite personalities from different sectors — including religion, culture, society and business — to discuss issues that contribute to social cohesion in Mali.

    The program has been running for more than three years, targeting both audiences in Mali and the Malian diaspora around the world.

    During the interview, the guest introduces himself under his official name, Mohamed Sinayoko, although he is widely known to the public as Karamoko Sinayoko. Close relatives and friends also refer to him as Madou Sinayoko.

    In the discussion, he speaks extensively about his Bozo heritage, referring to the ethnic group traditionally known as fishermen living along the Niger River and its tributary the Bani, particularly in the Inner Niger Delta region.

    A family rooted in Quranic scholarship

    Sinayoko explains that he originates from Sawa, also known as Pora-Bozo in the Bambara language. This locality lies near Kouakourou, in the Mopti region of Mali.

    He recalls his early education and religious studies in Kouakourou under the guidance of his teacher Alpha Baba Nientao, also known as Koba Nientao.

    During the interview, he emphasizes that he comes from a family of respected Quran scholars, mentioning his father Alpha Oumar Sinayoko, son of Kassim Sinayoko and grandson of Kalifa Sinayoko, all recognized for their role as teachers of the Quran.

    Life experience between Mali and Europe

    Mohamed Sinayoko also discusses his experience abroad, particularly in Spain and Italy, where he says he developed several professional and business activities. He reflects on his journey, the challenges he faced overseas and the lessons he brought back to Mali.

    Karamoko Sinayoko, who had been detained since January 9, 2026 on allegations of fraud and disturbing public order, was released on February 26, 2026 after spending several weeks in custody. His arrest, widely discussed across Mali and on social media, was linked to a case involving promises related to the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) 2025.

    According to early findings from the investigation, Sinayoko and Sidiki Haïdara, identified as his alleged associate, were suspected of approaching individuals with claims that they could spiritually or mystically influence the outcome of the tournament in favor of Mali’s national team.

    Investigators believe the suspects allegedly requested significant financial contributions, presenting them as necessary to carry out rituals intended to secure victory for the Malian squad. The amounts mentioned in the case were reportedly substantial, with estimates suggesting the operation could have involved more than 100 million CFA francs.

    The case sparked widespread public reaction, highlighting concerns over fraud schemes exploiting strong public emotions surrounding major football competitions. Authorities proceeded with their arrest and pre-trial detention while the judicial process continued.

    After more than a month behind bars, Karamoko Sinayoko was officially released on February 26, 2026. Details surrounding the exact conditions of his release have not yet been fully disclosed, and the case remains under close public and judicial scrutiny.
